Fogartyville in Sarasota Presents Ocean’s Eleven Big Band!

The Ocean’s Eleven Big Band, which keeps the Big Band-era alive, plays all the favorites Saturday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m. at Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center.

Led by renowned drummer Bryan Post and featuring jazz vocalist John Rinell, the 11-piece “little big band” combines the authentic swing and infectious rhythms of a super grooving big band.

Ocean’s Eleven includes several veterans of the John Danser Big Band, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Leon Merian Big Band, Sarasota Orchestra, The Airmen Of Note, The Peter Duchin Orchestra and Ringling Brothers Orchestra.

Audiences can expect favorites from Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Buddy Rich, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, Arturo Sandoval, Quincy Jones, Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, Maynard Ferguson and Hugh Masekela as well as contemporary artists and arrangers.

Tickets are $20 for members, $22 for not-yet-members and $11 for students (13+).

Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center is located at 525 Kumquat Court. Audiences should enter from the alleyway.
