
Fogartyville in Sarasota Has Fabulous Music on Thanksgiving Weekend
Visitors coming to town for Thanksgiving? Show them why Sarasota is Florida’s Cultural Coast by treating them to a weekend of world class blues, jazz or bluegrass at Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center, one of the region’s best listening rooms.
Fogartyville features Steve Arvey and Reverend Billy C. Wirtz on Nov. 24, Michael J. Ross on Nov. 25 and Jason Carter and Friends on Nov. 26.

Reverend Billy C. Wirtz, host of The Rhythm Revival on WSLR and master of the 88 key disaster, plays Friday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. with Steve Arvey, one of Florida’s top roots, Americana, cigar box guitar and blues players.
Tickets for the Nov. 24 blues and beyond concert are $16 for members and $20 for not-yet-members.
Sarasota-based jazz bassist and composer Michael J. Ross returns to the Fogartyville stage on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. to perform music from his new album, “Giraffe.”
Ross will be joined by Daniel Jordan on saxophone and flute, Anthony Aldissi on piano and Rhodes, and Walt Hubbard on drums.
Tickets for the Nov. 25 performance are $18 for members and $20 for not-yet-members.
And on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. Fogartyville welcomes back Grammy award-winning fiddler Jason Carter (and Friends) for the Lowdown Hoedown Tour.
Carter, who regularly performs with The Del McCoury Band and the Travelin’ McCourys, will be accompanied for the Fogartyville show by Alan Bartram on bass, Cody Kilby on guitar, Cory Walker on banjo and Chris Henry on mandolin.

Tickets for the Nov. 26 concert are $22 for members and $26 for not-yet-members.
Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center is located at 525 Kumquat Court. Audiences should enter the performance space from the alleyway.
