I have heard Christine Berstling sing and play the saxophone at several “Ladies Sing the Blues events.”  I knew she was talented, but last night I had a chance to hear her play and sing up close and personal at the hottest new jam in town on Anna Maria Island.  Hosted by Karen Klarich and the Big Bad Wolves, it was another great event with so much talent.  The weather was not the greatest, but there was still a big crowd.

Christine was dressed for the occasion, a beautiful tropical dress for a tropical atmosphere.  She looked magnificent!   I was in awe of Christine as she sang the Marshall Tucker tune, “Can’t You See.”  Her flute playing was just so smooth and natural.  Soothing, is the best way I can describe what I heard.  You could feel the love that Christine has for her flute.

After her first song, Christine strolled over and picked up her sax.  The perfect song “Get Ready” by the Temptations!  She got the crowd rocking and singing.  You could tell that when she plays the sax that Christine puts every ounce of energy that she has in her body to put out a sound that is phenomenal.  There aren’t too many horn players who can play the way Christine plays the flute and sax.  I was so glad to be a part of a great performance.  I sure hope that she comes back to Anna Maria soon.  Also, Christine performs at many venues in our area.  Make it a point to come out and support her.  You are in for a real treat.  Christine is awesome!

It was great to see Karen Klarich, Mark Skey and the boys put on another great show last night.  Savannah Brady made her second appearance at the jam and played the electric violin and guitar.  It was another fun night “jam” on Anna Maria Island……a treasure on our Gulf Coast.  Check it out!
