Boom! “Georgia On My Mind” at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota, FL

Yes, the show started out with immediate soul from the band last night at the Van Wezel. From the beginning the audience was so involved! We were so lucky to have seats close-up to really enjoy this phenomenal show. Laura and I are both huge Ray Charles fans.

The near sell-out crowd was clapping and singing all night. It was a phenomenal 90-minute show featuring the music of the genius himself, Ray Charles.

The show celebrates Ray’s music with an all-star cast of award winning performers which includes Emmy Award Winner and Grammy® Nominee – Clint Holmes, 10-time Grammy® Award Winner, 10-time Dove Award Winner, Soul Train Award Winner, 2-time NAACP Image Award nominated, & Gospel Music Hall of Famers – Take 6, 6-time Grammy® nominated vocalist – Nnenna Freelon, Grammy® Award Winner and recipient of numerous awards and acknowledgements for his musical excellence including three Dove Award nominations, an NAACP Image Award nomination and winner of two Stellar Awards-Gospel music’s highest honor – Kirk Whalum.

The show closed with a fabulous rendition of “America the Beautifu.” Everyone in the crowd sang along and I noticed quite a few tears! It was awesome. We all left the Van Wezel last night with big smiles on our faces. The show was phenomenal. The sound system at the Van Wezel is fantastic! Everyone loved the show.
