Back From Memphis, Steve Arvey at the Flying Dog Cafe

The Delta Swamp Rats come back from Memphis, TN where they competed in the International Blues Challenge and made it to the Semi-Finals beating out 70 other acts from all over the world…The Delta Swamp Rats are gonnah rock out the Flying Dog Café tonight, Jan 31st at 8 pm with its brand of Mississippi Delta Funk…and Special Guest, drummer Aaron Fowler.

The Delta Swamp Rats were created by Steve Arvey and Tony Smith in 2012. The Swamp Rat’s Mission is to bring the raw delta sounds of the late 40’s back to life. This sound that the band creates is called “Mississippi Delta Funk”. cigar box guitars, scorching vocal and deep tone wailing harmonica is mixed with Aaron Fowler’s distinctive drumming style.

This is very hard edged Blues, Boogie, Swamp and Funk crafted from out of the deep south and molded in their own style. Steve Arvey from Chicago, Aaron Fowler from Tampa and Tony Smith from Tupelo are no strangers to the music world. They have a deep passion for the Blues and it is reflected in this Trio.

The Delta Swamp Rats have performed at The Clearwater Blues Festival. Venice Blues Festival, Palmetto Blues Festival, The Homosassa Blues Festival and tour the Florida Keys constantly as a favorite in Key West and Marathon Key.
