Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota Brings Eclectic March Lineup Featuring ArcoStrum, a Free Family Concert at The Bay, and Genre-Bending Quartet Invoke
Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota is welcoming spring with a trio of dynamic March performances that span classical innovation, family-friendly fun, and genre-defying artistry. From an intimate violin-guitar duo to an interactive outdoor concert and a storytelling-driven quartet, the March schedule offers something for every music lover.
On March 5, Artist Series Concerts presents ArcoStrum at the Sarasota Yacht Club as part of its popular Lunch and Listen series. Featuring violinist Strauss Shi and guitarist Tengyue Zhang, ArcoStrum is known for its electrifying chemistry, technical brilliance, and inventive programming. The duo is dedicated to redefining the modern violin-guitar repertoire, seamlessly blending classical masterworks, progressive rock, and traditional Chinese music. Their performances often include original transcriptions and cross-cultural influences, incorporating instruments such as the erhu and dizi. The concert begins at 11:00 a.m., with tickets priced at $75, including lunch.
The series continues on March 15 with Beethoven, Beats and Beyond, a free, family-friendly concert at The Bay Sarasota beginning at 6:00 p.m. This engaging outdoor performance brings together classical music, beatboxing, and spoken word in a format designed to captivate audiences of all ages. Acclaimed beatbox artist Karim Manning joins a string quartet from Upward Notes to guide the audience through an interactive musical journey inspired by Max Richter’s reimagining of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. The evening will feature audience participation, environmentally inspired freestyle moments, and improvisation shaped by the crowd. Generously sponsored by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, the concert is free to attend, with open seating—guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.

Closing out the March lineup on March 17 is Invoke, performing at 5:30 p.m. at the Plantation Golf and Country Club. This concert marks the finale of Artist Series Concerts’ Lighter Fare series for the season. Invoke is celebrated for its ability to transcend musical labels, drawing from classical, bluegrass, Appalachian fiddle traditions, jazz, and minimalism. Comprised of Nick Montopoli, Zach Matteson, Karl Mitze, and Geoff Manyin, the quartet emphasizes storytelling through original compositions written specifically for the ensemble. Their imaginative performances challenge audiences to hear music without boundaries. Tickets are $85, including dinner.
