Acclaimed Fiddlers to Play Fogartyville Dec. 10
Longstanding legend in the bluegrass scene Jason Carter is joined by 2022 IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year Bronwyn Keith-Hynes Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. on stage at Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center, 525 Kumquat Court. Tickets for the concert are $20 for members and $22 for non-members and are available at Fogartyville or by calling 941-894-6469.
For the past 30 years, Jason Carter has been the fiddle player for the Del McCoury Band, the most awarded band in bluegrass history. He has earned five IBMA awards for best fiddle player, and has been nominated for 12 Grammys and taken three of them home. This November he released his new solo album, “Lowdown Hoedown,” with instrumental contributions from such legends as Jerry Douglas and Sam Bush alongside vocals from young trailblazers like Sarah Jarosz and Billy Strings. As a fiddler, Carter has been featured on albums by Steve Earle, Ricky Skaggs, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Asleep at the Wheel, and many more, all in addition to his tireless touring and recording with Del as well as the Travelin’ McCourys.

Bronwyn Keith-Hynes is an acclaimed bluegrass fiddler originally from Charlottesville, Va., and now makes her home in Nashville. Currently dividing time between touring with Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway and being a session musician in Nashville, Keith-Hynes won International Bluegrass Music Association’s Fiddler Player of the Year Award 2022. She is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston. During her time in Boston she co-founded and toured all over the world with progressive bluegrass band Mile Twelve and won the IBMA New Artist of the Year with them in 2020. Keith-Hynes has performed and recorded with Molly Tuttle, The Milk Carton Kids, Dailey and Vincent, Sierra Hull, Sarah Jarosz, Tim O’Brien, Chris Eldridge, Peter Rowan, Darol Anger, Tony Trischka, Michael Daves, Vince Herman and more.
