Wellen Park, Florida Takes Flight: New Homes, New High School and a Winning Start
The buzz around Wellen Park is undeniable. From its inception, controversy ensued regarding zip codes and whether residents can claim North Port or Venice as their home. Out of that, Wellen Park developed its own identity, outgrowing the notion it belongs on one side or the other. Instead, Wellen Park stands as a meeting ground where live entertainment, good restaurants and an increasing influx of retail establishments provide desirable activities. What is not to love about that?

Friday Night Lights
With excitement and high expectations, Wellen Park High School opened for the 2026-2027 school year. This is Sarasota County’s first new high school in 25 years and will serve students in Venice, North Port and Englewood. It was a prophetic first win over rival North Port for the inaugural preseason football game. A second win over Mariner High School has the official season kicked off in the right direction for the Wellen Eagles. By all accounts, parents, students and educators are enjoying the new school and the strong support of the community.
