Sarasota – Bradenton Still Enjoying Bohemian Rhapsody

Since the movie opened on November 2, Bohemian Rhapsody has grossed over 300 million dollars! That’s a great deal of money. A lot of folks in our area have seen the film. We waited for the initial hit of crowds to die down and went to see the film at the Oakmont 8 theater in Bradenton and enjoyed watching in a wonderful reclining lounge chair!

There will be no spoilers here, just an overall look at the movie! Rami Malek who played Freddie Mercury was awesome and who knows, maybe he will get a Best Actor Oscar nomination!

The film covers the band from their early beginnings in England to their huge performance at “Live Aid” at Wembley Stadium in 1985. Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor served as creative and musical consultants on the film.

The music! Oh, the music!  A little over 2 hours of fabulous Queen music and a story line that kept keen interest. Some of the songs that were worked into the movie- Don’t Stop Me Now, Another One Bites the Dust, Somebody to Love, I Want to Break Free, We Will Rock You and of course, We Are the Champions. There weren’t many dry eyes left in the theater at the end of the movie.

Queen performed at Live Aid in 1985Freddie Mercury lived a very interesting life. There was so much about him that we did not know and the film brought it to life.

If you haven’t seen the movie… do so! We plan on seeing it again.
