Florida’s official bird is the Northern mockingbird–but when you look around downtown, you may think it is the crane.
There have been cranes popping up all over downtown since the end of the recession nearly ten years ago. Hotels, apartment buildings and condominiums–including a lot of high-end condo high-rises. In this column, we’ll talk about a few of the more interesting ones that are serving folks in various price ranges with various services and amenities– and all with the true benefit of downtown living on or near the water.
Auteur – This 18-story beauty is going up on Boulevard of the Arts next to the Hyatt and across from the parking lot of the former GWIZ museum. Prices of the 56 luxury units range from $2.4 million to $4.8 million. It is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2022.
The Strand -152 Units, $280,000 – $625,000, waterfront property along Whitaker Bayou with boat slips and bay views. In progress with completion of Phase 1 later this year.
The DeMarcay – 39 units, luxury downtown condominiums on Palm Avenue, with prices ranging from $650,000 up to $2,600,000, rooftop pool, private balconies, valet parking and more..
BLVD – 49 luxury units in the heart of downtown across from The Bay project along Sarasota’s bayfront, prices range from $2-4 million.
There’s just a few of the many condo towers going up around downtown Sarasota. Some people love the additional construction and subsequent tax revenue, while others fear the additional traffic that will come with all the new residents.
