After months and months of preparation, opening night of the Sarasota Film Festival is this Friday, April 13 and runs through April 22. Associate Festival Director, Erin Murphy and her team have put in hundreds of hours to make sure that the 20th annual festival will be a huge success.
Actor Jon Heder who stars in WHEN JEFF TRIED TO SAVE THE WORLD will be attending the festival along with actress Virginia Madsen and actor Steven Guttenberg who will be receiving career achievement awards. Actors Richard Dreyfuss and Sophia Loren have received the award in the past from the festival.
Also scheduled to attend this year’s festival are director and actor, Eric Stoltz, comedian Bo Burnham who is making his director’s debut in EIGHTH GRADE and Oscar-nominated documentary writer, Rory Kennedy.
Opening night at the Sarasota Opera House promises to be one of the biggest events of the year in Sarasota. The opening night party after the film starts at 9pm at Five Points Park, 61. Pineapple Ave., Sarasota. There will be live music, VIP service available, and a few surprises.
