Hooters of Bradenton Pet Food Drive Raises Support for Humane Society of Manatee County

Hooters of Bradenton is thanking the local community after a successful pet adoption event, pet food drive and Friendraiser benefiting the Humane Society of Manatee County.

The event, held Saturday, May 16, 2026, brought animal lovers, Hooters guests and Humane Society supporters together for a day focused on helping local pets in need. Guests filled the restaurant’s donation bin with pet food, while the Friendraiser portion of the event generated additional financial support for the organization.

Community Support for Local Pets

As part of the effort, Hooters of Bradenton donated $1,000 to the Humane Society of Manatee County. The donation will help support future spay and neuter services, an important part of reducing pet overpopulation and improving the long-term health of dogs and cats throughout the community.

“We want to thank everyone who attended the event and donated pet food to support the Humane Society of Manatee County,” said Brian Commo, Managing Partner of Hooters of Bradenton.

The event also gave guests the opportunity to meet adoptable pets in person. For shelters and rescue organizations, adoption events held in public places can make a big difference by introducing animals to potential families outside of a traditional shelter setting. Suncoast Post recently covered another restaurant-based adoption effort, the Hooters and Hounds pet adoption event at Sarasota Hooters, showing how local businesses can help connect animals with potential families.

Partnership Benefits the Humane Society

“The Humane Society of Manatee County is excited to partner with Hooters of Bradenton for this special Friendraiser event benefiting the animals in our care,” said Jessica Weiss, Events and Volunteer Coordinator for the Humane Society of Manatee County. “Community partnerships like this help provide critical, lifesaving support for shelter pets while also creating opportunities for the public to meet some of our adoptable dogs in person. We are grateful to Hooters for their support.”

The Humane Society of Manatee County is a nonprofit animal welfare organization serving Bradenton and the surrounding area. In addition to pet adoption services, the organization operates a veterinary clinic that provides accessible care for cats and dogs, including wellness services, vaccines and spay/neuter procedures.

Community giving efforts across Manatee County continue to play a role in supporting local animal welfare groups, including campaigns such as SeaMonkey Apparel’s Fill the Van campaign for Manatee County animal rescue efforts and regional adoption events like Manatee County’s Adopt-A-Palooza.
