After a nationwide search, the good people at Healthy Teens Coalition of Manatee County Inc have chosen Evelyn Almodovar as their new Program Director. She started work here on December 2, 2019.
Ms. Almodovar has experience in leadership and has shown she has a passion for youth. She is the founder of a nonprofit in the Dominican Republic which helps children with basic needs and furthers educational opportunities. She will use her expertise in her new position as Program Director for Healthy Teens.
Mary Ann Legler who Chairs the Board of Directors at Healthy Teens said, “Evelyn Almodovar’s appointment as Program Director of Healthy Teens Coalition of Manatee County, Inc. marks the end of a transition period for the organization, and the beginning of a new phase of growth. We are pleased that she will play a pivotal role in continuing our mission to serve our local youth by providing them with the knowledge and skills to be healthy, contributing members of the community.”
Evelyn holds a BA from Post University in Human Services & Counseling and is currently completing a Master Degree in Public Administration. She has led initiatives around non-profit development, community organizing and understanding the systematic issues in communities that act as unintentional barriers to individuals accessing its resources.
