Chilling with a Netflix Trifecta
Growing up in the 80s there was no shortage of action movies which have garnered a legion of supporters across generations. One such movie that is out this summer honors Detroit native Axel Foley from the Beverly Hills Cop franchise reprising his role in this summer’s “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.” Beverly Hills Cop 4: Cast, Release Date, Title and Plot of Eddie Murphy Sequel – Netflix Tudum Forty years and four BHC movies later, this movie brought memories of watching the first Beverly Hills Cop in a movie theater and loving every minute of it. Eddie Murphy’s one-liners, sassy Detroit attitude and staying true to the original story really made for a fun watch. Of course, the action takes Axel out to California where along with quirky characters, Taggart and Rosewood who have been in all of the movies, must beat the clock to save his daughter. Plenty of physical comedy and slapstick humor keep this one moving along. With a nostalgic soundtrack that includes Bob Seger and the Pointer Sisters it just proves movies that were born in the 80s are simply better, in my humble opinion.

If reality tv is your thing and you also enjoy seeing how the rich and famous live and getting an insider’s peek at their mega mansions and penthouses, then Owning Manhattan Owning Manhattan Season 1 Release Date, Ryan Serhant, Cast, Trailer, News – Netflix Tudum is your next watch. Followers of real estate mogul Ryan Serhant loved how he entertained us in Million Dollar Listing. Serhant now runs his own super agency in NYC. Watching ambitious, even cut-throat agents with egos as huge as the multi million dollar deals they’re trying to close duke it out over listings is quite engaging. It took me just one day to roll through the newly released season. It’s like window shopping for homes I’ll never afford but somehow feel inspired that someone out there is living large. A plus for this one is that Ryan truly seems like a nice guy…filthy rich but still sweet.

An older movie that is heating up Netflix is The Judge. The Judge: Ending, Cast, Filming Locations – Netflix Tudum This witty, heartwarming, story narrates the unresolved issues between a father and son, played by Robert Duvall and Robert Downey, Jr. The father’s failing health and a subsequent car accident and murder accusation provides an intriguing scenario where his son is forced to defend the very man he has never been able to forgive. It’s a little bit of comedy and a well-written plot mixed with some definite tear-jerker moments all adding to the tapestry of one fabulous movie. This one stays with you and when it shows up on Netflix years later you immediately rewatch it. Bridging gap between family conflict is a topic that will never go out of style. Bonus, this one has one of the best songs from a movie, the haunting “Holocene” by Bon Iver.
