Van Wezel to Host Giving Hunger The Blues on October 28

The 21st annual Giving Hunger the Blues will be held outdoors at the Van Wezel on October 28 from noon to around 9:30pm.

This event raises money to help support the Generoso Foundation and the Mayor’s Feed the Hungry Program which help to protect, feed and nurture children and families in our community.

There will be an additional stage for Jazz on the Bay with headliner Marion Meadows, a jazz soprano saxophone player who has 13 albums.  The lineup on this stage will have eight regional and local artists, produced with the help of the Jazz Club of Sarasota.

The second stage, called the “Rhythm and Blues” stage will star John Nemeth and Albert Castiglia, both well know national artists.

Tickets for the event are $20. in advance and $25. on the day of the show.  Special VIP tickets are available that include dinner from Mattison’s City Grille.  More information:  www.givinghungertheblues.com
