Tee Off for a Cause: Farmhouse Animal & Nature Sanctuary’s 2nd Annual Charity Golf Scramble
Sarasota, FL – Golfers, animal lovers, and community supporters—mark your calendars! Farmhouse Animal & Nature Sanctuary (FANS) is hosting its 2nd Annual Farmhouse Scramble Golf Outing on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Tatum Ridge Golf Links (421 Tatum Rd, Sarasota, FL 34240). This exciting fundraising event promises a day of golf, food, and fun, all in support of rescued animals and sanctuary repairs.
The 18-hole scramble format kicks off at 8 AM and will feature exciting contests, including a Closest to the Pin Challenge and a Chip-In Challenge. Golfers will enjoy:

✅ A light breakfast before tee-off
✅ Golfer goody bags
✅ Fantastic raffle prizes
✅ A cookout-themed sit-down lunch and awards ceremony after play
Plus, attendees will have a unique chance to meet some of FANS’ animal ambassadors during the event!
Hurricane Recovery & Fundraising Efforts
Originally scheduled for October 2024, the event was postponed due to Hurricane Milton, which caused significant damage to the sanctuary’s habitat roofs and perimeter fencing—repairs that were already in progress from Hurricane Ian. Proceeds from the golf scramble will directly support rebuilding efforts to ensure the sanctuary’s 184 rescued animals continue to have a safe home.

Founded in 2017 by Dave & Lisa Burns, FANS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals. Located in Myakka City, FL, the sanctuary is home to 184 animals across 26 species and offers educational outreach programs to teach proper animal care. Additionally, FANS operates a monthly pet food bank supporting 86 families and three small nonprofits in need.
