Take the Plunge for Charity at Clancy’s Shamrock Shiver in the Chilly Gulf Waters

It’s hard to believe that 16 years have passed since the inception of the first Shamrock Shiver Charity Plunge. Organized by Clancy’s Irish Sports Pub in Bradenton, Florida, this remarkable event has continued to capture the spirit of giving.

Amidst challenging times faced by many Florida communities, the resilient members of the Bradenton community are gearing up once again to “take the plunge” and make a difference in the lives of less fortunate children in Manatee County. This heartwarming initiative is proudly sponsored by Clancy’s Irish Sports Pub & Grill, renowned for its unwavering commitment to community fundraising. Volunteers will fearlessly immerse themselves in the chilly Gulf waters, all in the name of collecting donations from their family, friends, and local businesses.

The much-anticipated Shamrock Shiver event is scheduled for January 1, 2024, kicking off at noon on Bradenton Beach, right at Gulf Drive between 4th Street South and 12th Street South. A remarkable aspect of this event is that 100% of the proceeds will be channeled to support four outstanding 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations in Manatee County: Take Stock in Children of Manatee County, Feeding Empty Little Tummies, and Healthy Teens Coalition of Manatee County. Impressively, the total raised to date stands at a staggering $400,413.00!

Following the exhilarating Polar Plunge in the Gulf waters at noon, participants and spectators alike are invited to the Post-Plunge Party, held at Clancy’s, located at 6218 Cortez Road West in Bradenton. This vibrant gathering promises door prizes and lively tunes courtesy of the Dr. Dave Band, infusing the event with the perfect blend of “fun” and fundraising.

Here’s the event schedule:

  • 12:00 PM – Polar Plunge on Bradenton Beach (7th St South and Gulf Drive). Spectators can gather from 11:30 AM to witness courageous individuals diving into the chilly waters, all for a noble cause.
  • The remainder of the event unfolds at Clancy’s Tiki Bar, 6218 Cortez Rd. West, featuring a silent auction running throughout the afternoon.
  • 12:30 PM – 2:45 PM – Raffle tickets on sale with live music from the Dr. Dave Band.
  • 3:00 PM – Raffle Draw.
  • 3:30 PM – Silent Auction closes (participants must be present to pay and claim their items).
  • 4:00 PM – Live auction begins.
