Sophia Loren Is Coming To Sarasota

Sophia Loren is coming to Sarasota on Thursday, March 31 to receive the 2016 Legend Award at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center.  The event announced by The Sarasota Film Festival is part of the Van Wezel’s Performing Arts Season.  The event is the evening before the Film Festival’s opening day on April 1.  Sophia Lauren will be presented the SFF Legend award and will be followed by a conversation on stage with Ms. Lauren and “Entertainment Tonight” news person, Bill Harris.

This is the 18th year for the Sarasota Film Festival.  Having Sophia Lauren in Sarasota to receive this award is huge for our city.  Mark Famiglio, President of The Sarasota Film Festival said “What an honor it is for Sarasota Film Festival to bestow our Legend Award to the incredible world-renowned talent, Sophia Loren.  Sophia’s legacy and work is a true representation of the arts and culture that we strive to bring to this community year after year.  As we enter our 18th festival, there is no better way to celebrate than to recognize the iconic Ms. Lauren.”
