The Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota is closing out its vibrant 29th season with two spectacular performances this May, featuring the award-winning Sinta Quartet and internationally acclaimed Beijing Guitar Duo. The Sinta Quartet, comprised of Dan Graser, Zach Stern, Joe Girard, and Danny Hawthorne-Foss, brings an electrifying and interactive chamber music performance featuring the expressive range of saxophones. Audiences will enjoy the group’s unique arrangements of Dvořák’s String Quartet No. 12 “American”, Ligeti’s Six Bagatelles, Béla Fleck’s UFO Tofu, and Mark O’Connor’s Appalachia Waltz, among others. Performing entirely from memory, Sinta Quartet guarantees a captivating and intimate musical experience.

The Sinta Quartet are not just crowd-pleasers—they’re internationally recognized, having won the Gold Medal at the prestigious 2018 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and regularly featured at major venues and festivals across the U.S.

Meng Su and Yameng Wang, who make up the Beijing Guitar Duo, are globally recognized for their technical brilliance and musicality. Both were international competition winners before their teens and have since carved out impressive solo and duo careers. Their 2010 debut at Carnegie Hall launched them onto the world stage, leading to performances across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Australia. They are also known for collaborations with guitar legend Manuel Barrueco, with whom they recorded albums and earned a Latin Grammy nomination.

This Sarasota performance will showcase works by Franck, Debussy, Albéniz, and Gnattali, offering a rich and diverse program that will appeal to classical guitar enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Founded in 1996, Artist Series Concerts has become a cornerstone of Sarasota’s performing arts scene. The nonprofit has presented hundreds of concerts featuring emerging and internationally renowned artists, fostering a deep love for live music on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

Beyond the stage, the organization invests in the future of music by delivering interactive outreach programs to area schools and awarding scholarships. To date, they have provided more than $380,000 in scholarships to 164 promising young musicians, many of whom now study at elite conservatories and pursue professional music careers.

Artist Series Concerts is generously supported by organizations including the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and more.
