| Suncoast Post Staff |

In recognition of National Hire a Veteran Day, Sarasota County Government is hosting a Veteran-Focused Job Fair on Thursday, July 24, 2025, designed to connect military veterans with rewarding careers in public service. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sarasota County Administration Building, located at 1660 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota, in the first-floor training room.

This special hiring event will begin with a Veterans-only recruiting hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., offering those who have served in the military a dedicated opportunity to meet with department leaders and human resources staff. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the job fair will be open to the general public.

Sarasota County’s Human Resources team, along with hiring managers from multiple departments, will be present to screen candidates and conduct on-site interviews. Job seekers are strongly encouraged to bring multiple copies of their updated resumes, dress professionally, and be ready for potential same-day interviews.

Veterans attending the fair will also have the opportunity to learn about the County’s veteran-friendly hiring policies, benefits, and commitment to supporting military personnel in their transition to civilian careers. Sarasota County has been recognized in the past for its dedication to veteran employment, aligning with national and state initiatives to reduce veteran unemployment and promote workforce development.

National Hire a Veteran Day, observed annually on July 25, was created to raise awareness about the value veterans bring to the workforce and to encourage employers to hire those who have served. Sarasota County’s participation in this initiative highlights its proactive stance in supporting local heroes.
