Sangarita Showdown Competition Set for October Benefits Parenting Matters
Parenting is often considered the most challenging and vital job in the world. Thankfully, parents don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Parenting Matters, a local nonprofit, is dedicated to helping parents understand their children’s development and behaviors while equipping them with effective parenting skills. Their mission is to advance the lives of children, together, with their parents.
Parenting Matters offers a range of programs including in-home parenting services, community-based groups, classes, and workshops. These programs are available at little to no cost, with convenient daytime and evening sessions, often accompanied by free childcare.
To support these valuable programs, Parenting Matters hosts the Sangarita Showdown, their largest fundraiser of the year. The 8th Annual Sangarita Showdown will take place on Friday, October 4th, 2024, from 7 PM to 10 PM at the Manatee County Fairgrounds, 1402 14th Avenue West, Palmetto, inside the Veteran’s Hall.
Local restaurants will compete for the title of best Sangria, Margarita, and Appetizer, with attendees sampling and voting for their favorites. Categories include People’s Choice of Sangria, People’s Choice of Margarita, and Best Appetizer. The evening will also feature raffles, silent and live auctions, and plenty of fun and food provided by local restaurants. Celebrity auctioneer Bob Slicker will lead the live auction, and Dave Strickland will serve as the event emcee.
Ticket prices will be $75 per person or $575 for a table of 8.
