Operation Warrior Resolution Offering “Combat Conscience Yoga”
On Sunday, July 5th the Sarasota based military nonprofit, Operation Warrior Resolution, will be officially opening their newly remodeled, new yoga facility exclusively for all veterans and veteran family members. “Combat Conscience Yoga” will be offered twice a week at no cost for all active duty and retired military personal, including family members.
Yoga spaces of its kind offering classes, holistic teachings and trainings specifically designed for the service community are rare but growing in popularity. They will also be following local state guidelines to ensure healthy and safety during this time.
First official class
To honor this unveiling, Operation Warrior Resolution will be hosting its first official class on Sunday, July 5th at 10:30am at its newly remodeled location, MindSpa Integrative Wellness Center of Sarasota. The class will be a continued celebration of Fourth of July festivities, open to all veterans and veteran families to participate. And open to the public for that day only to observe activities.
“Combat Conscience Yoga” classes are guided each week by Army veteran, clinical social worker and certified yoga instructor, Kendra Simpkins of Sarasota, Florida. Kendra has recently returned from her second yoga retreat to India. This was the perfect spiritual place for the Sarasota native to learn, practice, and immerse herself in the ancient art of yoga, meditation, mindfulness and Hindu culture.

It’s also the type of holistic therapy area military veterans and family members will experience attending “Combat Conscience Yoga” classes. Actively engaging, realigning and releasing the unseen wounds of war in a yoga space dedicated to service. It’s an Army veteran’s way of giving back, helping and healing fellow veterans and their family members. It’s one of the most rewarding experiences Kendra Simpkins has created since co-founding Operation Warrior Resolution in 2018.
Local veteran and recent retreat attendee, Justin MacIntyre, stated, “For over more than a decade I have been suffering from stress and anxiety from PTSD from events that occurred while serving in Iraq and personal issues that were never resolved. I thought that was just how life was going forward for me. But after recently attending the Operation Warrior Retreat (OWR) Veterans Retreat I have a whole different view of the rest of my life. If I were to pick one thing that “Combat Conscience Yoga” its learning the ability to reset and refresh my thinking in any moment, techniques especially helpful when dealing with the stressors of daily life.”
