Minicamps in Sarasota-Bradenton For Area Youth, Great Fun!

Instead of sitting around idle, kids can spend their free days on the water. NBP Minicamps at Nathan Benderson Park offer youths 6-14 the opportunity to learn skills, make friends, build character, and make lifelong memories. They borrow activities and curriculum from the popular NBP Summer Camps and offer a great way to get fresh air and activity time on the water and off.

With options including freshwater fishing, archery, and paddle adventure — which includes kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and canoes — there’s minicamps for everyone to enjoy, and at reasonable rates.

Pandemic precautions proven during the park’s summer camps include contactless pickup and drop-off, daily temperature readings for participants and staffers, equipment sanitizing and smaller groups of kids per instructor. Meghan Farrell, the park’s program manager, said protocols are designed with safety in mind.

“These camps are a great opportunity for kids to gain experience trying new things, potentially out of their comfort zone, in a supportive environment,” Farrell said. “Every child can benefit from learning a new skill, and in doing so, will gain confidence in their ability to learn new skills. Our experiential learning approach allows campers to truly learn from their experiences at camp, and we hope our minicamps will give them the confidence to try new things.”
