Sarasota County invites residents to a Community Conversation on Hurricane Preparedness scheduled for Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Riverview High School, located at 1 Ram Way, Sarasota. Doors will open at 5 p.m., and while the event is free, attendees are encouraged to register in advance. ​

This informative session will feature insights from county departments, local municipalities, and environmental experts. Topics will include personal and home preparation strategies, evacuation procedures, shelter options—including those for individuals with special needs—and an overview of the national forecasting models for the 2025 hurricane season. ​Sarasota County Government
