Honoring Our Veterans on the Florida Suncoast

November 11, Veteran’s Day, a day to honor our Veterans. It’s a special day on the Florida Suncoast with many local events where you can participate.

Sarasota- Suncoast Region 11 November Veterans Day Parade Sarasota FL 10am to 11am.Link up will be at the Sarasota VFW 124 South Tuttle Ave. Sarasota, 34237, it’s two blocks south of Fruitville Road, with a Walker Bulldog tank in front of it. Please arrive at 8:30- 9:00am. We drive to the staging area at about 9:30am. Parade starts at 10am, promptly, at Main St. & Osprey Ave. Lunch is usually provided at the post but not until 1:30pm or so… Those with Military Vehicles wanting to participate please contact FCC Con Dale Aylward DARMYJEEP@verizon.net or 941-812-0993

 

 

Manatee County- There will be a service at Sutton Park at 11am with parade starting around 11:30. For more information- click here.

Venice- Ceremony hosted by the VFW Post 8118. Veterans organizations will be involved with the ceremony held at Patriots Park. Everyone is invited to attend. More Information call 941 493-1726

Sarasota National Cemetery- 10th annual Memorial Mass on Veterans Day at 3 p.m. hosted by the Diocese of Venice at Sarasota National Cemetery’s Patriot Plaza (9810 State Road 72/Clark Road). All are invited to attend and active military personnel are encouraged to wear their uniform. For more information, call 941-484-9543

Anna Maria Island- Parade Starts at 1pm, Anna Maria’s “Old Soldiers and Sailors Parade”. It goes from City Hall to City Pier Park with a Veterans Day ceremony to follow immediately after the parade. Festivities end at City Pier Park at Pine Avenue and North Bay Blvd. Visit their website here for more information.
