Sarasota Artists Create Free Halloween Drive Through Display Halloween
Sarasota , FL – This Halloween, artists Dave Gordon and Elln Hagney, of Enlightened Monkey Arts, will transform the cul-de-sac, in front of their home into a free family-friendly drive-through Halloween experience. This display titled Halloween on S. Lime Ave is sponsored in part by Sterling Tax & Accounting, Weber Scenic Productions, and Wonder Cake Creations. The Halloween themed installation, hosted on October 29 – 31, from 7 – 10 PM, will be located at 133 S. Lime Ave, Sarasota, FL.
Highlights of the Halloween Drive Through
“After hearing from so many of our neighbors, ‘we don’t know what to do about Halloween and Trick-or-Treating this year,’ we decided you use our talents and our skills to help allow families to celebrate Halloween in a socially distanced and safe manner.” said Elln Hagney, Enlightened Monkey Arts Co-founder. “We know our display cannot replace the experience of running around the neighborhood with your friends and getting a pillowcase filled with candy, but we do know we can create something special for all ages and families to enjoy.”

Aspects of the Display
For Halloween on S. Lime Ave, the artist couple is creating over fourteen separate technology-art-based Halloween scenes featuring,
- Projection mapped experiences
- Custom created animatronics
- Kinetic sculptures
- Lighting
- Special effects
- Sound effects and more
Highlights include three projection-mapped experiences, fire breathing pumpkins, glowing spider eggs, robots, flying ghosts and more. There are also swamp monsters engaged in an epic battle with pumpkin men and a ghoul’s garden filled with light up skull flowers, oversized mushrooms and a creepy caterpillar smoking a hookah.
Costs and Your Part
To help defer some of the costs of hosting this drive-through experience, Enlightened Monkey Arts invites the public to help them create their Western Style Cemetery., The public purchases the naming rights on the Enlightened Monkey Arts website for $25 and provide a funny name or the name of someone they know. The artists will then add a newly named stone in the graveyard. Some of the names that have already been purchased are Fester N. Rott, Voldemort nose no more, Tim Burr and Bob Float found under a boat. For an additional $25, stones may be upgraded with a surprise decoration such as flowers, an ax, a demented teddy bear, bones, etc. Tombstone names may be purchased on enlighenedmonkeyart.com. The money raised from name sales will be used to purchase supplies and treats (budget permitting) that will be delivered using social distance protocols to each car.
Halloween on South Lime Ave occurs on October 29 – 31, from 7 PM to 10 PM. The drive-through experience may be seen at 133 S. Lime Ave. For more information or to purchase a name on a tombstone, visit the website or call 617 823 5081.
