Florida Blues and Music Festival
Sarasota Film Society is proud to announce a new partnership with The Florida Blues and Music Festival for the local musical portion of this year’s event, taking place on October 26th at the Sarasota Fairgrounds. Sarasota Film Society will present performances from Big T & The Tornados at the event, along with Ladies Sing The Blues (LSTB).
LSTB is a local group of female vocalists, founded in 2011 by Steve Arvey. Arvey’s intention was to bring together a group of the area’s most talented female musicians to perform on the same stage, with the goal of raising money for Sarasota-based charities. The ladies have done an incredible job raising awareness and funds for important local causes to date, and continue to entertain and enlighten the community as they use their unique talents and sultry vocals for a good cause.
As part of this year’s Florida Blues and Music Festival, the Sarasota Film Society will select four singers from LSTB for a special performance at the event. Each singer from LSTB will first need to provide Sarasota Film Society with a performance video, as well as two songs that they would like to perform at the festival. The Film Society will then select six LSTB singers to join Big T & The Tornados for a special performance on October 6th at Ocean Blues, and afterward the final four will be chosen to join Big T’s band at the Florida Blues and Music Festival on October 26.
Those from the LSTB who are interested in submitting videos should submit their work directly to:
