Farmhouse Sanctuary Golf Tournament Returns September 26 at New Bradenton Course
Golfers from across the Suncoast will have an opportunity to enjoy a morning on the course while helping provide lifelong care for rescued animals during the Third Annual Farmhouse Scramble Golf Outing on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
This year’s fundraiser is moving to a new location, Tara Golf & Country Club, at 6602 Drewrys Bluff in Bradenton. The private, member-owned club features an 18-hole championship course built to USGA standards, with seven sets of tees designed to accommodate golfers with different experience levels.
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Farmhouse Animal & Nature Sanctuary, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Myakka City.
The sanctuary provides permanent care for domestic, farm, exotic and wild animals that might otherwise have nowhere safe to go. Its mission also includes educating the public about animal welfare, responsible care and the importance of protecting nature.
A Full Morning of Golf and Fundraising
The tournament will be played as an 18-hole scramble, allowing players to compete in teams while enjoying a more relaxed and social format.
The day begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start, meaning every participating team will begin play at the same time from different holes around the course.
Golfer registration includes:
- Complimentary practice balls for the driving range
- Access to the putting green
- A light continental breakfast before play
- An indoor salad bar and deli-style lunch buffet
- Two adult beverages from the beverage cart
- A tournament goody bag
- Entry into a raffle
- A post-tournament prize presentation
Players will also encounter contests, games, raffles and additional opportunities to support the sanctuary throughout the event.

Registration and Sponsorship Information
Individual golfer registration is $175, while a four-player team may register for $600.
Local businesses, organizations and individuals can also participate through tournament sponsorships. Sponsorship support helps the nonprofit cover the continuing costs of food, shelter, veterinary treatment, habitat maintenance and daily care for the animals that call the sanctuary home.
Farmhouse Animal & Nature Sanctuary was founded by Dave and Lisa Burns after years of volunteering and working as live-in caretakers at another wild, exotic and farm-animal sanctuary. When that organization was preparing to close, the couple established their own nonprofit so the animals already in their care would continue to have a safe home. The Suncoast Post previously covered another Farmhouse Animal & Nature Sanctuary fundraiser in Myakka City.
Today, the organization operates with the assistance of its board, volunteers, donors and community partners.
