Eat, Drink, and Be Big!

That’s what 18 local Chef’s will be doing this year at The 9th Annual Chef’s Cooking For Kids fundraiser to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast in Manatee County.  Chef Craig Chasky of Infused Cuisine is one of the local Chef’s that will be participating this year. We took some time and asked Chef Chasky a few questions about the event.

Tell us your name and the restaurant/company you are associated with and what type of Cuisine is served.

Chef Craig Chasky , of “Infused Cuisine”™  I am professionally trained in and specialize in Continental Cuisine. I owned and operated a Four Star Restaurant in the Berkshires for over a decade. “Infused Cuisine”™ offers  personalized services including hands-on Cooking Classes, and Programs for adults and children, which incorporates “Infused Cuisine”™ with Certified Pure Therapeutic Food Grade Essential Oils. I also offer Nutritional Consults, Catering, and Showcase at two Farmer’s Markets, (Venice and Englewood). In addition, I have developed a Gourmet Product line including, Oils, Dry Rubs and my latest creation, “Far Out Sauce”, made with CBD Oil.

How long has your restaurant/Catering company been open?

I have been in involved the Culinary Arts for over 48 years. And have been offering my personalized services for 30 years.

Tell us why you are a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast Chef’s Cooking for Kids event and how many years have you been involved with the event?

I’ve had the pleasure of being involved in this amazing event for two years. I continue to stay involved because I believe in the positive power of mentoring children. Today, more than ever, children need a good role model and mentor. I am committed to empowering our Youth to succeed and achieve their dreams through the Culinary Arts. As a result, we help children develop important skills, while instilling principles, technique, and fundamentals while offering much needed encouragement and fun along the way. 


Chef Craig ChaskyDid you have or do you have a mentor that has helped you in life?

Yes. While attending, the CIA (Culinary Institute of America) at Hyde Park, New York. The Professors that Mentored me were Eliot Sharron (Sauce Workshop), Bernard Clayton, Jr., James Beard and Jacque’ Pepin. Their influence and encouragement allowed me to be successful and thrive in a very competitive field.

Tell us about the dish you will be serving at the event.

I will be preparing a dish that was a favorite at my former Restaurant: Celebrity Chef Craig’s “Infused Cuisine”™,  of “Angel Hair Pasta Primavera”! (Infused with *Certified Pure Therapeutic Food Grade Essential Oils)! 

Where can someone come to try some of the dishes?

Every first Friday of the Month I Showcase at Morton’s Gourmet Market located at, 1924 S. Osprey Avenue, Sarasota, Florida and on Saturday’s at The Venice Farmer’s Market, 200 South block of Tampa Avenue in Venice Florida on Saturday’s. Or they may call for a Private Cooking Class (both Corporate and individual available). 941.224.5924.

Is there anything else you would like to share about the event? 

Yes. Anyone reading this article who really cares about children, and desires to positively impact their future while enjoying exotic food sampling, music and great people in an energized environment should attend! 

Chef Chasky grew up in Long Island, NY, where he loved to cook with his mother and grandmother. He has worked with the renowned Glorious Foods Catering, working events at the MoMA   with Cary Grant as host as well as Rudolph Nureyev’s 50th birthday at the Met.  He has also worked at the famous Hermitage Restaurant in New York and catered for guests such as Jackie Onassis, Salvador Dali, Mick Jagger, and Brook Shields. His success has taken him to The Food Network, New York Times, New York Magazine, ABC and NBC Television. Today, Chef Craig Chasky is empowering others to achieve their dreams by encouraging and guiding young Chef’s to be successful in their field.
