BIG Clay Shoot Returns to Sarasota: Sporting Clays Fundraiser Supports Local Youth Mentorship

| Suncoast Post Staff |

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast is gearing up for one of its most anticipated fundraising events of the year: The BIG Clay Shoot, set for Friday, March 6, 2026, at Sarasota Trap, Skeet & Clays.

The high-energy sporting clays tournament brings together Sarasota County business leaders, corporate teams, first responders, and community partners for a day that blends friendly competition with a powerful purpose. Proceeds from the event directly support BBBS of the Sun Coast’s mission to ignite the power and promise of youth through professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships.

Designed for shooters of all experience levels, The BIG Clay Shoot features a shotgun-start tournament format, allowing teams to rotate through expertly designed clay stations that challenge accuracy, timing, and teamwork. Participants can expect a professionally run event at one of Southwest Florida’s premier shooting facilities, known for its top-tier courses and safety standards.

Beyond the competition, the event offers a full BBQ lunch, opportunities for networking, and a chance to connect with fellow community-minded leaders who share a commitment to making a difference locally. Sponsorship packages are available for businesses looking to increase brand visibility while investing in a proven youth mentorship program that has served the region for decades.

“The BIG Clay Shoot is more than a sporting event,” said Vinnie Mascarenhas, Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast. “It’s an opportunity for our business community and first responders to come together in a meaningful way—supporting local youth while enjoying a first-class experience.”

Funds raised help BBBS of the Sun Coast recruit, screen, train, and support volunteer mentors—known as “Bigs”—who provide consistent guidance and encouragement to local children and teens. Research continues to show that youth with mentors are more likely to succeed academically, avoid risky behaviors, and develop the confidence needed to reach their full potential.

Registration, team sign-ups, and sponsorship opportunities for The BIG Clay Shoot are now open. Additional event details and registration information can be found at:
