Yes, it’s true. If you missed Betty Fox on September 11th at Ladies Sing The Blues, here is another chance to see this awesome and talented entertainer and her fabulous band in Bradenton on Thanksgiving Eve at The Flying Dog Cafe!
Betty has an extensive background in blues, gospel and a lifelong passion for soul music. Some more huge news about Betty…She is the 2015 representative for the Suncoast Blues Society at the “IBC” International Blues Competition in Memphis, TN in January. This is a very special honor. Betty is also a 2 time winner of Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay. She is truly a force to be reckoned with!
Betty just got back from a 2 week tour across the pond in Norway, Svalbard and Denmark….her first international tour! Betty has opened for such artists as Mavis Staples, The Legendary JC’s, Selwyn Birchwood (2013 IBC Winner) Roosevelt Collier of the Lee Boys, Damon Fowler, Victor Wainwright and more. Betty has played at multiple music festivals including the city of Treasure Island’s Bikini Blues Bash Festival, the Tangerine Blues Festival, the Dunedin Wines the Blues Festival, the Gasparilla Music Festival, the Safety Harbor Seafood Festival, the Daytona Blues Festival, Panama City Blues Festival, and the largest free music festival in the US: Springing the Blues.
So, save the date, Thanksgiving Eve, 8 pm at the Flying Dog Café. It is going to be an epic evening! ….A chance to see one of the greatest “blues ladies” on the Suncoast right here in our own backyard before she represents the Suncoast at the International Blues Competition in January.
