Beat a path to good health at Beats @ Healthy Street, a free community health fair at the Bradenton Farmers’ Market, Saturday, April 7, 2018, 9 a.m.–2 p.m., in downtown Bradenton. Join the Florida Department of Health in Manatee County and Tobacco Free Florida and enjoy free health screenings, cooking demos, activity demonstrations and exhibits. Beats @ Healthy Street coincides with the observance of National Public Health Week.

The Beats @ Healthy Street health fair, sponsored by Tobacco Free Florida, is an initiative of the Florida Department of Health in Manatee County. The event features more than a dozen exhibitors. Health topics and services will include blood pressure and blood glucose screenings, information regarding healthy living for children and teens, disease prevention, women’s health, WIC (a special supplemental nutrition program for women, infants, and children), tobacco prevention and cessation, and more.

“The Farmers’ Market is the perfect venue for this event,” said Dr. Jennifer Bencie, Administrator for the Florida Department of Health in Manatee County. “The healthy cooking demonstrations and mini-exercise classes are great complements to the Market’s locally-grown produce and upbeat atmosphere. It’s all fun, fresh and informative.”
