Our staff at The Sarasota Post has the privilege of receiving “media passes” for the 2017 World Rowing Championships at Nathan Benderson Park.  Today, I had a chance to watch some competition, enjoy awesome food, listen to some great music and mingle with the huge crowd.  What a fabulous day.

Nathan Benderson ParkThe rowing competition is intense with world class athletes from all over the globe competing.  I sat in the grandstand for a while and spoke with folks who had sons, daughters, relatives and friends competing!  They cheered for their individual family members and for their country!  It was a tremendous feeling with lots of pride in the stands.

I took a walk through the complex.  There are many different types of food and drinks being offered.  You name it and you will find what you’re looking for.  Other vendors are selling authentic rowing competition clothing, t-shirts and more.  The “welcome wagon’s” from Sarasota / Bradenton are there along with “Realize Bradenton” and others.

2017 World Rowing CompetitionThere is a full slate of competition on Saturday, 9/30 and competition on Sunday morning, 10/1, followed by the Closing Ceremonies.  General Admission tickets are still available for both days.  Don’t miss the chance to attend this very special event.  I hope to see all my friends there on both days!  It’s going to be fa fabulous weekend!
