Anna Maria Island is the Place to be for the 21st Annual BayFest
The 21st annual “Bayfest” on Anna Maria Island is right around the corner! This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever with great music, delicious food and hang out with great friends. There will also be the Bayfest famous car show with lots of vendors with crafts, food and great drinks for all ages!
Band Lineup and Bios for Saturday, October 15, 2022 “BayFest”:
MIKE SALES – EVENT EMCEE / 10 AM-9 PM
Mike Sales Brings his emcee skills to Saturday’s events introducing the acts, cutting up with the crowd and singing songs that set the tone for a day of fun. Sit back, relax and enjoy lush vocals, accompanied by the rich tones of his electric guitar on a balmy island night … ”Paradise has a Soundtrack.”
TREVOR BYSTROM BAND / 11 AM-1:15 PM
Trevor Bystrom is known for his multi-cultural sound, which blends elements from many genres, including world, rock, reggae, Latin, and blues. He and his band create world melodies and afro-rhythms using many unique instruments from a wide range of cultures, including flute, violin, didgeridoo, ngoni, weissenborn slide guitar, and world percussion.
The group fuses sounds and rhythms from around the globe to create memorable songs with captivating instrumentation and inspirational lyrics. The band’s original music largely centers around current and persisting social and environmental issues. It acts as a call for listeners to break their acceptance of the status quo and become individual ripples for positive change in the world. Their message appeals to a sense of communal responsibility, protection of the earth and all living beings, and a movement towards sustainable living.
LISA & THE ISLAND HOPPERS / 1:45-4 PM
Lisa and The Island Hoppers are a dynamic group that covers material of all genres, focusing on pop, rock, dance, blues, with a little rap thrown in. They are led by Lead Vocalist Lisa Rott, one of NJ’s Top Female Vocalist for 30 years who now resides in Sarasota. Lisa’s extensive vocal range, powerful delivery, energy, and interaction with the crowd sets her apart. She is joined by Paul Luther (Guitar/Vocals), Allan Marnie (Bass/Vocals), and Jim Rosati (Drums/Vocals). All are accomplished musicians and lead vocalists themselves. This gives the group the ability to deliver a vast repertoire and great harmonies. They get great joy from performing together as a group and no doubt it spills over their beloved smiling and dancing audience.
THE KAREN & JIMMY BAND / 4:30-6:30 PM
The Karen and Jimmy Band is a merging of two talented band leaders that has earned the reputation of excellence in high energy Americana Dance Music with a distinctive sound of classic rock, southern rock, R&B and country. The band features powerhouse vocals and guitar of the charismatic Ms. Karen Klarich and expert guitar styling and vocals of Mr. Jimmy Lally, together with a magical stage chemistry that leaves you wanting more.
THE DR. DAVE BAND / 7-9 pm
One of the most popular high-energy “good-time” bands in Florida. Dr. Dave has received the Reader’s Choice Favorite Band Award from two Florida newspapers. In his dynamic high-energy show, the “Doctor” plays guitar, electric fiddle, and banjo, with Tom Haack (drums), Joe Bruno (bass), and Bill VanAllen (guitar). Dr. Dave describes his music as “CountryGrassRock.” Picture country-rock on steroids with an infusion of bluegrass
banjo and fiddle. Dr. Dave has performed at concerts with several national artists such as The Charlie Daniels Band, the Marshall Tucker Band, Cheap Trick and many more. If you like high-energy music you will love the Dr. Dave Band!
We are excited to announce that the AMI Chamber Is Going Green at this year’s BayFest. This free-family event benefits the AMI Chamber’s College Scholarship Fund. BayFest Is Going Green by selling most beer, water and soda in aluminum cans and bottles, which will be placed in recycle receptacles at the event then put into our recycle dumpster which are being provided by Waste Management.
