More Information:

Don’t miss the Fourth Annual Myakka River Blues
Festival at Snook Haven in Venice on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2015, 11a.m. to
7 p.m.

Snook Haven, Smack Dab on the Myakka River, at 5000 East Venice Avenue, Venice, is
a perfect setting for this annual festival venue. Proceeds from the festival will benefit the
Loveland Center’s Loveland Village in Venice.

Festival headliner and dynamic blues vocalist, Annika Chambers, recently completed her 8 year
term as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army (including deployments to Afghanistan and Kosovo). Since
coming home, Annika has blazed the Houston blues music scene and was a 2015 Blues Music
Award nominee.

Early in the line-up of this year’s performers are the Backtrack Blues Band from the Tampa Bay
area. One of Florida’s longest running blues acts, Backtrack has performed with many blues
legends, including Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, and Greg Allman. This five-piece
unit has an upbeat, electric blues sound reminiscent of the early Chicago blues scene.
Playing later in the afternoon is The Pitbull of Blues Band – this Tampa area group was named
the 2014 Orange Blossom Blues Society Central Florida Blues Challenge Winner.

On Stage 2, the audience will enjoy performances by Sarasota Slim, a local favorite, and Frank
Bangae, who has shared the stage with the Rolling Stones, Santana, Robert Plant, R.E.M.,
Jimmie Vaughan, Dave Matthews, B.B. King, Clapton and other blues and rock titans. Bang has
ki9also performed alongside Buddy Guy in many television appearances, including the Tonight
Show and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.

“We didn’t think this event could get any better – but it has! I don’t know how we can top these
great musicians!” say Mike and Justin Pachota, Snook Haven’s owners. The father-son
restaurateur team hosts the event in tribute to Snook Haven’s rich music and live entertainment
history. “Like last year, the proceeds will benefit Loveland Village.”

The line-up for this year’s festival will appeal to all audiences, with styles from the Chicago blues
scene to southern style blues, and nearly everything in between!
