2025 U21 Golf Croquet World Championship Set to Take Place in Sarasota County, April 14-18

The Sarasota County Croquet Club, in collaboration with the United States Croquet Association (USCA) and Visit Sarasota County, is excited to host the 2025 U21 Golf Croquet World Championship from April 14-18 at Venice’s Wellfield Park. This prestigious event will showcase the world’s top croquet players under 21 as they compete for five days of thrilling action.

“We’re honored to welcome these talented young athletes to our community,” said John Goldener, former President of the Sarasota County Croquet Club. “Our goal is to inspire greater interest in croquet among the youth in Sarasota County and around the world.”

The championship will feature 28 young athletes from across the globe, including six from the United States. Other participating countries include Egypt, New Zealand, Spain, England, Australia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Mexico, and Latvia. Players will range in age from 11 to 21 years old.

The tournament is supported by local and international partners, including Sarasota County Parks & Rec, the World Croquet Federation, and others.

In addition to the competitive matches, an opening ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 13th, at 4 p.m. featuring event athletes, local officials, and partners. USCA President Damon Bidencope, USCA Vice President Michael Albert, and Sarasota County Commissioner Joe Neunder will address attendees. The event is free to the public, and no tickets are required.

  • Daily Competitions: Monday, April 14 – Thursday, April 17, 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Finals & Awards Ceremony: Friday, April 18, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Who: Members of the Sarasota County Croquet Club, international athletes, dignitaries, and representatives from the USCA, World Croquet Federation, Sarasota County Parks & Rec, and Visit Sarasota County.
