2022 Robinson Preserve 5K/10K at Robinson Preserve
The 14th annual Robinson Preserve Twilight 5K/10K will be taking place at the Robinson Preserve in Bradenton on Friday, March 25th, 2022 at 6:15 p.m. This party is back! This year’s post-race party will feature a huge hot food buffet, 3 Daughters Brewing beer and seltzer, an award ceremony, and of course entertainment. 3 Daughters & Fit2Run recently collaborated on Beach Blonde Ale Light, a perfect post race beer! The whole family can participate, as the event kicks off with Kids’ dashes at 5:45pm. Come out and enjoy a night of festive fun for the whole family.
The Robinson Preserve Twilight 5K/10K will benefit the Big Bill Foundation which was created in memory of Bradenton native and co-founder of Fit2Run, Bill Robinson after he lost his battle with Leukemia in 2020 at the age of 70. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the Robinson Preserve and will benefit nature preservation and upkeep.
The Big Bill Foundation’s mission is to provide scholarships to survivors of childhood cancer. At this year’s Robinson Preserve Twilight 5K/10K, Big Bill Foundation scholarships will be awarded during a heartfelt ceremony on race day. Awardees will be presented with a scholarship check and will be recognized for their perseverance and bravery. In addition to the scholarships, age group awards, master’s awards, and a few surprise awards that are new for Fit2Time races will be presented! Fit2Time is the race management division of Fit2Run.
The Big Bill Foundation’s first scholarship recipient, Tyson Odom was awarded with the inaugural Big Bill Foundation Scholarship in the sum of $5,000 at the 2022 Big Bill Foundation Big 5K on January 29th,2022. Tyson is still undergoing treatment and the Big Bill Foundation was honored to be able to help financially during his time of need. Applications are now open for the next round of scholarships and will close March 8th, 2022. Visit Big Bill Foundation to apply. The memory of Big Bill Robinson was commemorated in the brand new Fit2Run Bradenton store, whose walls are adorned with memories and accomplishments of Bill and the rest of the Robinson family, who have always resided in Bradenton.
