The Broadway Bar, A Sarasota Gem
The Broadway Bar is the oldest bar in Sarasota……now that’s telling you something! I sat down with Carolyn Heath, owner/proprietor of the “Broadway” last night. We hadn’t met before but after spending an hour with her I left feeling like we are best friends! We got right down to it and Carolyn talked about the history of the bar and some of the special folks who have stopped by over the years; Henry Mancini, Rita Moreno, The Black Crowes and the Allman Brothers, just to mention a few.
I am a huge supporter of “buy and support local.” The Broadway Bar is a local as it gets. There is a hidden gem on the second floor. You can either walk up stairs or take the very cool elevator. There you will find a private dining facility, a patio with great views, a place to hold meetings, family gatherings and more. The second floor is intimate and awesome!
I have much more to write about the Broadway Bar, but I just wanted to remind Sarasota and the world about this great establishment. Great food and drink, live entertainment and the nicest staff you will meet in this town. They are still taking reservations for Christmas and Holiday parties. Call the Broadway today to reserve. Better yet, come down to the Broadway Bar…..it’s an awesome gem in our town. Oh, here’s a little teaser……I hear that in the near future a very talented “local” band will be performing at the Broadway! Watch for the announcement in the Sarasota Post!
The Broadway Bar is located at 1001 Cocoanut Avenue at the corner of 10th street. Vist their website at www.broadwaybar.com.
