The Blue Rooster, Southern Comfort!
This is an update to the article written in January 2014 about the Blue Rooster.
Looking for a music venue / restaurant with flare and Southern Style? Something a little different than the ordinary? Look no further than The Blue Rooster. Located at 1525 4th Street in Sarasota, TBR has it happening every night of the week!
From Their Website– The restaurant, with over 50 linear feet of bar and community tables, belly up and take a respite from the day’s worries. Rich in history, the corner bar, country shack, juke joints and Friday night fish fries are what make up the southern bar.
The Music– The Blue Rooster offers the best live entertainment Sarasota has to offer six nights a week, delivered through a top notch sound system in a classic juke joint atmosphere. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes!
The Food, The New American Southern fare cooked up by the culinary mind of Executive Chef Michael Yoder takes simple, locally-sourced base ingredients and transforms them into true blue southern comfort cuisine with a down home TBR twist.
The Blue Rooster is one of my favorite destinations. Bill, Barbara and their entire staff go out of their way to make your visit a memorable one. The food is fabulous and the service is top notch. The entertainment, well it’s the best in town. In the last month, the line up included Selwyn Birchwood, Lauren Mitchell, Ari and the Alibis, Steve Arvey, Ted Stevens and the Doo Drops, Shantel Norman singing with her band at the Sunday Gospel Brunch and so many more.. The Sunday event is catching on quickly and last Sunday’s brunch filled the place and there were lots of folks having a fabulous time enjoying Shantel.
On any given night you will meet up with someone you know at the TBR. This venue has quickly become THE place to be in Sarasota, and on any given night you’re likely to bump into someone you know at the Blue Rooster. Right? Don Mckeon! It’s becoming everyone’s favorite place in town. Visit their website.
