Savor Sarasota Celebrates 20 Years With 20 Days of Restaurant Deals
Besides the lovely weather and pristine beaches, another benefit of living on Florida’s Suncoast is the variety of fresh foods at our hands. Gulf and bays full of fresh fish and seafood paired with fields of fruits and vegetables grown year-round makes dining out an all-seasons treat. Rather than facing the winter slump of processed or canned produce, Floridian’s can enjoy a fresh salad day in and out, no matter the season. Renowned chefs have a bounty of beautiful foods to play with in their kitchens, producing the most vibrant and delicious dishes our local restaurants serve. Let’s face it, if you have a cultured traveler in your midst or just a picky eater, Sarasota and the surrounding areas has an eatery for everyone.
This year Savor Sarasota is celebrating 20 years of highlighting restaurants in the non-tourist season. Savor Sarasota | Visit Sarasota County. And this year, in honor of the anniversary, the Savor Sarasota Restaurant Week will be extended from June 1 through June 20. Over 50 participating restaurants will offer multi-course meals for $25/lunch and $45/dinner. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit those restaurants that are always busy during the season or seem out of reach pricewise. From Bradenton to Longboat and Englewood to North Port, Savor Sarasota has your special occasion, date night, or “no-cook” Friday covered.
This year, in honor of the 20th anniversary, an online passport for the Savor Sarasota Flavor Trail has been added so people can receive information on the participating restaurants with menus. Diners can check in and receive fun swag for frequenting the most restaurants in the program. No app is needed; all notifications and check ins are done via email. What a fun way to support local restaurants and strike up some competition between friends on who is going to visit the most restaurants. Savor Sarasota Flavor Trail | Visit Sarasota County. While out, don’t forget to post your pictures via #savorsarasota and tag Visit Sarasota for a chance to be included on Visit Sarasota’s gallery page.
