Slicker's Eatery

Local Cortez Eatery Celebrating First Anniversary

| Sande Caplin |

Does time ever fly!  It seems like yesterday that Bob Slicker was talking about opening his first restaurant in Cortez, Florida.  When I interviewed Bob in December of 2020, he shared with me his ideas and what his plans were for the new eatery.  Full disclosure, I have known Bob for many years and consider him a dear friend.  Heck, a few years ago he traveled to New York for my daughter’s wedding and turned the city upside down.  Just ask my kids…. There are a few places we can’t go back to!!! (only kidding, not!)

Bob’s idea was to open a totally unique restaurant with a “foodie” menu” that most folks haven’t seen before.  He also wanted to create a cool, calm and friendly atmosphere for everyone dining at the restaurant, along with a drink menu that is second to none.

I must say that everything that Bob planned came to fruition.  The restaurant is the “go-to” place for some of the very best small and large plates in our area, fabulous drinks, awesome desserts and of course jokes and more jokes from Bob himself.  He never stops talking and making his patrons laugh.

So, make a reservation for this weekend “online,” or you can order food to go “online at Slicker’s Eatery.   Last night was sold out and tonight is also sold out.  Oh, and the weekends are extra special with a Bloody Mary bar and Mimosa specials until 2 pm.

From the Website:  Slicker’s Eatery is excited to offer something innovative and exciting to the Cortez area. Our driving force is intentionality. To be intentional with our ingredients, our choices, our relationships, and our impact. Everything from investing in our team, to partnering with local charities, to steering away from frozen or fried foods and opting for fresh and locally sourced ingredients as much as possible. We care deeply about people, and that love is at the core of everything we do. In our inspired menu choices, specialty crafted cocktails, and the way we treat each other. We hope that every person leaves with a full belly and a full heart.

We are committed to being an outlier in the industry and will continue to seek the ways we can make our place, our communities, and ultimately the world a brighter and kinder place.

For goodness’ sake.

Congratulations to Bob, Molly, Amy, and the entire team at Slicker’s Eatery for a job well done.
