The Columbia Restaurant Group will once again be supporting Suncoast Charities for Children, and 16 other local non-profit agencies, during their 25th Annual Community Harvest program during the entire month of September.

The Tampa-based restaurant group is donating 5% of all diner’s checks to local charitable organizations in communities near their various restaurant locations. Here in Sarasota, any customers dining inside or ordering takeout, at either the Columbia Restaurant or Cha Cha Coconuts, are able to choose a charity from a ballot that is included with their check or write in the charity of their choice. Both restaurants are located on beautiful St. Armands Circle.  Once the program ends,  the Columbia Restaurant then provides each charity with gift certificates that can be used for up to 12 months.   Over the past 24 years, the Columbia Restaurant Community Harvest has donated $3 Million to non-profit organizations throughout Florida.

From Suncoast Charities Website: Suncoast Charities for Children is where fun meets philanthropy here on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Our team specializes in bringing people together to share stories and raise awareness through celebration while making a real impact for those in our community who need it most. The funds raised from our annual special events and festivals help support each of the local agencies below, ensuring over 8,000 children, teens, adults and their families have access to critical, life-changing programs and services.  Suncoast Charities for Children also provides an annual funding allocation to the Suncoast Foundation. This support assists with any necessary maintenance and capital expenditure requests within these agencies so their program and service budgets are never impacted.
