Betsie Coolidge was married to co-owner and founder of the Café L’Europe, Titus Letschert, who she unfortunately lost to cancer in 2011. Titus was formally trained in Europe and brought much knowledge and creativity to the menu as well as the restaurant.
Titus had quite an opportunity to rub elbows with New York upper-echelon society while managing the very trendy Sign of the Dove Restaurant in New York City, a hot spot for the famous and infamous in the 1970’s. He also was part-owner and manager of the Yellow Finger Discotheque, also in NYC, and during that time made complete arrangements for Tiny Tim to marry on the Johnny Carson show, flying in 20,000 tulips from Holland for the occasion.

These are called The Gaslight Room, holding 35 guests, and the Gallery Room, holding up to 65 guests and including paintings of renowned artists on the walls.
