3rd Annual Taste of UTC Awakening our Appetites
Who here among us equates food with celebrations? Need to plan a birthday party? Then, what is on the menu? Football season here? What kind of wings are you making this weekend? October has come; let’s bake an apple pie! It is a delectable pattern that binds our happy experiences with culinary favorites, from childhood to old age.
When we think of our major life memories and our family trees, inevitably a twig off Grandma’s branch is probably going to include Mayonnaise Cake. Great Grandma can make homemade Butterfingers like no other. We all have our favorite foodie recollections. Soon, many of us will gather to brine, broil, fry, and maybe drink our way through this coming Thanksgiving. Christmas will hopefully see us being sweet with cookie swaps and holiday potlucks. We love to eat. Our desire for food throttles higher than our life-sustaining need for nutrients. As it turns out, food, family, love, and our freedom to express all are interwoven into one impressive tapestry. Let’s celebrate the Holidays, Pumpkin-Overload (it’s a thing) and our pampered appetites with amazing dishes which have been discounted at the 3rd Annual Taste of UTC.

From small diners who have been serving up the same burgers and hot dogs for years, somehow expertly grilled or formed with secret spices, all seeming to contain the secret sauce that restaurateurs spend years searching for, to start-ups with brilliant chefs defining the new “it” locale for restaurants, and guess what, it’s far beyond Main Street. Yes, Sarasota has the world to offer to culinary snobs and the 3rd Annual Taste of UTC is a scrumptious glimpse into this delicious explosion that we are lucky to be a part of.
