For the 5th year in a row there was a love fest at the Swordfish Grill and Tiki. The “Giving Back” event was sold out and a huge success.
The benefactor for this year’s event, “Healthy Teens Coalition of Manatee County”, received $35,600. This was the most ever collected at the event. Mary Ann Legler, Chair, Board of Directors of the organization and her team worked so hard selling tickets, collecting raffle and silent auction items for the last 6 months.
The event is sponsored each year by the Swordfish Grill & Tiki, The Sarasota Post and Sande Caplin and Associates. The team at Visit A Paradise Realty are the music sponsors for the event. Starting today, Sande Caplin, Laura Bell Adams, Katrina Cox and Bob Slicker will be asking charities to submit their request to be the recipient for next year’s event in September 2020.
Live music was provided by Savannah Brady playing her violin, Tanya Sings with her great band and ending the night was TC and the Troublemakers. The music director was Tim Chandler who made sure every musician had what was needed to sound their best.
There were so many new friendships made and believe it or not there were several folks who had never been to the Swordfish Grill. They were so impressed. The team at the Swordfish did a phenomenal job! Thank you!
We live in such a wonderful close-knit community. It is heartwarming to see so many wonderful folks support this very important event. See you next year!
