Save The Date…Giving Challenge to Help Manatee County Shelter Animals

| Caryn V. Hodge |

Friends of Manatee County Animal Services (FoMCAS) is asking that you BE THE ONE to help them continue to help the animals at Manatee County Animal Services Animal Shelter.

Giving Challenge

From Noon Tuesday, April 28th to noon Wednesday, April 29, Friends of Manatee County Animal Services is asking you to donate. All donations $25-$100 will receive a match!

100% of the donations to this nonprofit go directly to help the animals at the Manatee County Animal Services animal shelter, the county’s only open-admission shelter.

The Giving Challenge is hosted by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, with giving strengthened by The Patterson Foundation.
Donations cannot be made before the challenge begins so save the date and donate! #BeTheOne!

FoMCAS mission

FoMCAS mission is to work hand in hand with the shelter to enrich the lives of the shelter animals by raising funds to provide additional resources, medical care and heartworm treatment. For more info call 941-713-3105.

From FoMCAS website

MCAS will be facilitating adoptions through appointment only at (941) 742-5933.

MCAS will still approve foster applications and transfer of animals to rescue. Residents can help shelter animals by signing up as an emergency foster to provide animals relief from the shelter environment. Individuals interested in fostering can do the following:

Sign up to be an emergency on-call foster by filling out the application.
MCAS will provide supplies, but we encourage fosters to start planning ahead and gathering resources in anticipation of fostering a pet.
Rescue organizations should call (941) 527-9915 or email haili.brooks@mymanatee.org to arrange pulling of MCAS animals.

Editor’s Note: FoMCAS put on a fun Howl’ween Pet Costume Contest last year!
