Sarasota Ritz-Carlton Hosts a Spectacular Charity Event

On Friday, May 10th a very special event took place in Sarasota. The 14th annual Dick Vitale Charity event which benefits the V Foundation Victory Over Cancer! The team at the Sarasota Post had the honor of attending the press conference for the event.

There wasn’t a dry eye at the press conference when Dick spoke about the kids, their battle against cancer and the kids who lost the battle. It was a very touching moment. Many of the kids who are survivors along with their families attended.

 

 

This year’s honorees were Clemson University head football coach, Dabo Swinney, former NBA and college coach, Avery Johnson, and Chris Fowler broadcaster from ESPN.

Families and survivors attended the Dick Vitale Charity event at the Ritz-Carlton in Sarasota, FLThe event on Friday night broke a record with $4.3 million dollar raised. Over the 14 years that the event has been held, $29.3 million dollars has been raised for the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
