Record-Setting “Party Under The Stars” In Sarasota Benefits Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation
The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation is proud to announce that the sixth annual Party Under the Stars, which was held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Hyatt Sarasota, set an event record, raising more than $217,000 (net), with all proceeds going to the FCS Foundation.
This year, the fundraiser was chaired by Alaina Bonessi, Sandra Shahinian and honorary chairs, FCS Physicians, Drs. Fadi Kayali, Dr. Manish Patel and Dr. Miguel Pelayo.
The “garden party” themed evening “under the stars” featured music, dancing, dining and a silent auction with fabulous prizes. Money raised is earmarked for patient grants, which provide financial assistance for non-medical living expenses to qualified cancer patients who are currently undergoing treatment in Florida. The FCS Foundation’s overhead is paid by the physician partners at Florida Cancer Specialists, so 100% of donations (net event expenses) will benefit cancer patients in need.
FCS Foundation Board Member & FCS Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, Shelly Glenn, shared, “As an FCS Foundation Board Member, we are ecstatic to announce that the 2019 Party Under the Stars event was not only a success, but a night to remember!”
Honorary Chairs and FCS Physicians, Drs. Fadi Kayali, Manish Patel and Miguel Pelayo, stated, “We were delighted to be Honorary Chairs of this unique event in Sarasota, which will directly benefit cancer patients and their families. This event could not have been a success without the continued support of our local community and sponsors.”
