There were so many nice people that attended the fundraiser for the Oklahoma Tornado Victims Saturday night at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Sarasota. There was great music, food and awesome stories were shared all night. Several new friendships were forged and it was the place to be for a great evening of entertainment for an important cause.
It was so nice to see Sarasota Sally and her hubby, Greg, Tom and Jodie Brady (Savannah’s mom and dad) were there along with Leslie and Paul Marron, Mark Skey, my good pal Mark Kracker who took some awesome photos and I had the opportunity to meet one of the “Florida Blues Brothers,” Daniel Jake Likins. Now, Daniel has some stores to tell! He could talk for days about his experiences and wow…..does he have stuff to share! Watch the sarasotapost.com. There will be several stories about Daniel, his partner Elwood and what they are up to.
There was great music by Michael Miller, Karen and the Big Bad Wolves, The Rockadials, Cordova and the stars of the night, Lenny Long’s band, “Reckless Deriver” with special guest, Savannah Brady. Lenny is a great guy! He worked so hard to put this gig together and did a tremendous job. When there was a scheduling conflict, Lenny stepped in and made sure that Savannah played with his band. Talk about the right move at the right time. “Reckless Deriver” were absolutely awesome and Savannah added the finishing touch.
Thank you, Lenny Long for doing what you do and please let Sarasota and the surrounding area know when your band will be playing again. Sarasotapost.com will certainly spread the word.
