Giving Back

2nd Year in a Row- Annual “Giving Back” Event at the Swordfish Grill & Tiki is Postponed

| Suncoast Post Staff |

For the second year in a row, the Covid19 Pandemic has forced the postponement of one of the most important charity events in our area.  For many years, the “Giving Back” event has been held at the Swordfish Grill & Tiki in Cortez, Florida.  This would have been the 7th year.

One of the event’s sponsors, Sande Caplin, said, “with the current situation with Covid19 and the new variant, it’s just not a good time to put on the event.  It’s sad, but we must do the right thing to make sure everyone stays safe.  The event will be bigger and better when it is rescheduled.”  No new date has been set.

The event is sponsored by the Swordfish Grill & Tiki, The Suncoast Post, and Sande Caplin & Associates Web Design.  Katrina Cox and Adam Sears from the Swordfish have been working hard with Sande putting the event together.  The folks at Visit A Paradise Realty in Bradenton Beach are the music sponsors for the event.

This year’s recipient charities are Hunger’s End and The Blessing Bags Project. It is the first time that 2 charities would be benefiting from the event.
